    Description

Another crude early pontiled blackglass cylinder liquor bottle free blown in the 1700s Colonial Period......no embossing....crudely free blown so there are no mold seams....early rough sand pontil scar on sunken bottom ...crude applied double ring collar....dark olive green blackglass....round with pooched out base.....10 1/8"tall x 3 1/2"round.....Good condition with no chips or damage. A dug bottle with haze and dark sediment haze still inside. Could be cleaned up better, but I just like it the way it was dug. This bottle was dug from a 1700s well or privy near Rampart & St.Bernard in the Old French Quarter of New Orleans.  These are getting much more difficult to find these days as the digging has all but dried up. Guaranteed authentic pre 1800
