We, as believers in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, are assured of eternal life in heaven. It is this hope that emboldens us to share our faith with others and to live a life that reflects the character of God, regardless of the consequences. True worship of God is rooted in our hearts and is expressed in a life that honors God by serving others. Risen Church is a community of believers; whose purpose is to exhort each other to live a God honoring life that impacts the community that surrounds us. Our relationships with God, each other, and the community should promote Justice, Love, and Worship within Risen Church and within our community. The Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired of God and are the revelation of God to man, the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct. The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent "I AM," the Creator of heaven and earth, and the Redeemer of mankind.

We want to be a church that is relevant to our culture. On Sunday mornings our music is modern, our graphics are great, our dress is casual, and our donuts are fantastic. However, much more importantly , we are a thoroughly gospel-centric church. We think each and every Sunday morning when we gather together, the comfortable will be made uncomfortable by the gospel, and the uncomfortable will be made comfortable by that same gospel. We both celebrate and challenge the culture around us as we orient our lives around Jesus. Everyone has a next step to take in their journey of faith. Most people move to Los Angeles to use the city for their own gain — to break into the industry, to work for tech startups, or to simply build their brand.
And sometimes I think we equate easiness with happiness. If you like your regular fix of alcohol or nicotine, then dating a Mormon probably isn't a good idea.
